Pupils Attend Commonwealth Reception At Guildhall

On the 6th of March, four Year 11 pupils went to the Guildhall to attend a reception for young people from Commonwealth nations. They met the Right Worshipful Mayor of Bath and learnt a lot about the mayoralty, such as previous Mayors of Bath, the city sword and maces, and the Guildhall itself.

They then heard a short talk from Mr Godfrey Hall, the Chairman of the Royal Commonwealth Society (Bath & District), about the society itself and what it does.

Finally, they had a photo opportunity with the Mayor in his official parlour, a place where people like Buzz Aldrin and Queen Elizabeth II have stood which was an eye-opening experience.
