Students Perform Their A-Level Devised And Scripted Assessments
The recent snow meant many people were unable to watch the A-Level Drama students perform their devised and scripted assessments. However, we were very fortunate that the A-Level examiner was able to come and mark the Year 13 pieces a day early. The students' performances were excellent and they should be very proud of their efforts.
The evening started with a monologue from 4:48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane with was performed with maturity and calm reflect by Charlotte.
Abi, Jasmine and Gracie also performed an extract from the play, and they impressed with their subtle synchronised movement and naturalistic portrayal of a patient and her psychiatrist.
Sula and Hellie demonstrated an impressive range of emotion in their performance of a piece from 'Girls Like That' by Evan Placey.
The final Year 13 piece was a performance from Martin McDonagh's 'The Pillowman' by James and Conor. This piece is an irreverent black comedy and the boys handled the comedy and tragedy equally well.
There will be another chance to see the Year 12 Devised assessment tomorrow (Tuesday 13th March) at 4.30pm in the Theatre. The piece lasts approximately 30 minutes.
