Kingswood School is pleased to announce that it has been shortlisted for the Bath Life Awards 2025 in both the 'Civic and Community' and 'Education' categories. The school’s initiative, Tackling Loneliness: Bridging Generations in Bath, has been recognised for its outstanding work in fostering intergenerational connections and supporting the local community.

The initiative invites local older adults, many in their 70s, 80s and 90s, to the school six times a year for afternoons of entertainment, refreshments, and meaningful interaction with pupils. This programme aims to combat loneliness and improve mental wellbeing, providing a space where both young and older generations can learn from each other, and share experiences.

Andrew Gordon-Brown, Head of Kingswood School, said, “It is a great pleasure to use the collective strength of our school community to support others. It is incredibly rewarding to see our guests leave uplifted and reenergised after their visits. Equally important is the sense of service we instil in our pupils through these events - teaching them the value of connecting with those outside their usual circle.

“We are honoured to be shortlisted alongside some of Bath’s finest establishments, and we are grateful for the recognition of the collective efforts of our school community.”

The winners of the Bath Life Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday 27 March at The Forum, Bath.
