The Kingswood community undertook its third charity walk on Sunday.

94 boarders, staff, residents on the campus, some accompanies with children and dogs, completed the two hour walk with a stop for ice cream.

It was great to see so many of the members of the community together.

They will have raised approximately £300 for Hope and Homes for Children.

It turned out to be a special day for the boarders as they were treated to a BBQ in the evening before the boarders’ termly meeting in the evening.

This was a chance to wish good luck to the Sixth Form and Year 11 students for their exams and the pupils heard some outstanding and heartfelt speeches from the Upper Sixth Heads of Boarding and from Westwood House Captains.

Many photos were seen, awards were made and many stories were told about what goes on in the boarding houses.

What was abundantly clear was the affection they have for Kingswood and their boarding houses and the gratitude felt for the staff who look after them.

One final award was made with Lizzie awarded with the Wyvern Award.

The Wyvern Award, which is presented to pupils for outstanding service to the boarding community, has now been awarded to 26 members of the Kingswood community.
