Last Thursday, students and staff participated in Earth Day. The day aimed to increase pupil awareness and raise the profile of environmental issues, and encourage pupils to think about how they could be more sustainable.

A number of activities took part throughout the day, including a group walk to school in the morning and a ‘Hang like an orang-utan’ challenge.

£80 was raised for the Orangutan Foundation which will help sponsor two orang-utans in Borneo for a year.

Many pupils and staff made the most of the good weather and walked or cycled to school with Head of Science, Mr Matheson, walking 10.5m to Kingswood.
