The Geography Society Holds Its First Extra-Curricular Talk
October 15th 2020
The Geography Society held their first extra-curricular talk led by former student Naomi Pendle (KS 1995-2001) last Wednesday.
Naomi is a lecturer on International Development at LSE as well as an adviser to the Government on East African affairs and she spoke with great insight into the recent civil war and ensuing geopolitical interventions in South Sudan.
She discussed the effectiveness of the UN as well as national governments on a range of spatial and temporal scales, and was able to discuss the consequences of the recent pandemic on the country.
This talk provided reinforced learning from lessons as well as hopefully inspiring pupils and bringing the content to life.
