Last Thursday, Kingswood enjoyed its third annual Earth Day.

In glorious sunshine, students and staff made a special effort to make their way to school under their own power and over Quarter put their energy to good use making fresh smoothies on the smoothie bike and hanging like orang-utans.

Other stalls included t-shirt printing and textile upcycling with superb results on show later in the day.

Year 7 pupils provided a wealth of information on a number of key topics threatening our planet.

In all, over £200 was raised for the Orangutan Foundation and Client Earth on the day.

Well done to Mrs Chamen who won the award for the longest walk to school.

Issy won the award for the greatest effort journeying to Kingswood after collecting a full bin liner on her walk.

Will and India won the awards for the longest hang like an orang-utan for the boys and girls respectively.

Mr Musgrove has thanked all those who took part, to all the bakers, to the members of the Sustainable Development Society for organising the event, to Year 7 for their excellent stalls and to the staff who helped make the event work.
