Kingswood Athletic Club participated in a meet at Marlborough College on Saturday.

Due to the warm temperatures, the middle distance runners found the going particularly tough but there were still some impressive performances on the day against the usual high level of competition.

The Senior Girls were once again made up of a team of Lower Sixth girls with many of them achieving podium places.

Miya won the 200m and, with her sister Jasmin, they got 1st and 2nd in the 100m.

The Inter Girls enjoyed their afternoon with Zoe coming 2nd in the 100m and Edie did well in the Discus and won the Javelin.

Ellie won the Long Jump and the 800m in a very tight race and, together with Zoe, Liv and Ciara, came 2nd to a very good Marlborough team who set a new school record.

The Junior team enjoyed strong competition.

Tobina came 2nd in the Discus, Sonia and Hannah came 1st and 2nd in the B strong 100m and Alice had a great day winning the 75m Hurdles and the 100m.

Alice also won the High Jump, breaking the School record with had stood since 1995 with a jump of 1.55m and, together with Hannah, Sonia and Sterling, won the relay.

In the Boys’ competition, there were a number of fantastic performances.

One of the events which stood out on the day was the Inter Boys 800m and 1500m.

Frankie did enough to hold out Rob in a sprint to the line of the 800m as the boys took 1st and 2nd place.

In the 1500m, Rob ran a smart race, but left himself a lot to do in the final straight.

He showed fantastic resilience to get the win, with fellow teammate Frankie at the finish line cheering him on.

Callum won the Inter Hurdles, and Finn won the Inter Long Jump.

In the Junior section, Sol won the Hurdles, and Ollie came 2nd in the Javelin.

In the Senior section, Bert won the Long Jump and Isaac threw the 2nd furthest distance in the Javelin.
