Kingswood Father and Son Duo Selected to Represent Wales in Hockey

A remarkable family achievement has seen father and son, James and Owen Brown, both earn spots in the Wales national hockey teams.
Owen, a promising young player in the 1st XI at Kingswood, has earned a spot on the Wales U18s team. He is preparing for an exciting series against Ulster over the Easter period, which serves as a key part of his team’s build-up to the European Championships in Turkey this July.
Meanwhile James, Head of Boys' Games at Kingswood School, has been selected to represent Wales in the Over 50s category for the Masters European Championships, set to take place in Valencia this May. Following this, he will also compete in the Home Nations tournament in the Summer.
The selection of both James and Owen marks a historic moment for the family, highlighting their shared passion for hockey and their commitment to representing Wales at the highest levels of competition. It is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the strong sporting culture at Kingswood, where father and son have been actively involved in the hockey community for many years.
