Sport Highlights

We are very lucky to have such as plethora of keen sports players at Kingswood, each with their own unique and individual approach to their sport. Over the course of the autumn term, we have seen the likes of; Hockey, Rugby, Swimming, Bowling, Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, Racing, Fencing, Football, Golf, Cross Country and Irish Dancing both in and outside of school. It has been wonderful to spectate such a variety of Sport and watch our players excel in their talents.

Highlights have included:

• The 1^st XV Rugby Festival where 12 teams were invited to Kingswood as an opportunity to play and to establish a platform for the teams to develop for the season ahead.

• Golfer, Rubysha, represented Wiltshire in the Alresford Cup Competition and while also playing in the Drayton Park classic, an event that is part of the British Junior Golf Tour. Rubysha proudly secured wins in both of the events.

• Fencer, William, recently completed his first international competition for Great Britain at the Budapest Olympic Arena. Since then he has been selected to represent Great Britain in the U17, 16th World Epee Challenge in Grenoble and we wish him the best of luck for this. William has also been accepted for a place on the British Fencing Athlete Development Program which provides specialist training in his field with other members of the British Fencing team.

• Irish Dancer, Annie, recently placed first in the U18 Preliminary Championships in Northern Ireland and took part in the Great Britain Championships in London during October.

• And finally, we hosted the BANES Cross Country Championships on the Upper. 18 schools from the BANES area were invited to take part in the event, where the best runners in the county competed to earn selection to the County Championships in January. All of our runners across the year groups performed well and represented Kingswood brilliantly.
