Tennis Teams Enjoy Successful Week On The Courts
On Thursday, the 2nd team, 3rd team and 4th team all enjoyed matches against St. Mary’s, Calne.
The result went down to the last three matches and, despite an exciting finish, the three senior teams lost 4-5.
On Saturday, Kingswood enjoyed a full block against Dauntsey’s with 14 teams competing and Kingswood eventually winning the block 9-5 thanks to some great rallies.
The 2nd team, 3rd team and 4th team all won convincingly, only dropping one set in each team, with scores 8-1, 7-1 and 8-1.
Congratulations to U15As for achieving Team of the Week – pair one, Rose and Annie were fired up and focused throughout and won all three sets and only dropped two games.
Georgie and Stevie demonstrated some well-placed groundstrokes, whilst Bella and Alice played some outstanding rallies with their opposition and had quick reaction times at the net.
It was a close contest and was decided in the final set where Bella and Alice pulled off a strong 6-2 win to secure the match 5-4.
The Senior Boys’ teams produced some excellent tennis to record two good wins against Prior.
The first team won their match with help from Gabriel and Matthew who secured two points for the team.
Joe and Johnny put in some sublime rallies in gusty conditions against Prior’s first team and came out on top 7-6 6-3.
Johnny has been a regular fixture of the Senior Boys’ Tennis squad and is in his fourth season in the 1st VI.
