Successful Week For Kingswood’s Netball Teams
On Saturday, Kingswood’s 1st VII competed in the Regional rounds of the National Netball Competition in Bournemouth.
It was a very competitive tournament with the best teams in the South West fighting it out for two spots at the National Finals.
Despite playing six tough matches, Kingswood's team didn't look out of their depth.
Two excellent wins against Cheltenham College and St Mary’s Calne were highlights of the morning and after four matches in close succession, the girls found themselves in third place which they narrowly failed to hold on to.
However, the girls deserve enormous credit for their performances and behaviour throughout the day.
The Sport department have praised Emily who led the team excellently both on and off the court.
In addition to this, Kingswood fielded 17 Netball teams against two strong Schools in Bryanston and Clifton Prep but Kingswood won both of these blocks with the Westwood teams only losing one of their eight matches.
The U15As were named Team of the Week after they bounced back from their defeat the previous week to beat a strong Bryanston side 25-16 with Jess picking up the Player of the Match award for her all-round performance.
However, the entire team showed great character to hold off the Bryanston challenge and move ahead in the third quarter to establish and unassailable lead.
