U14 Netball Team Qualify For County Tournament
On Thursday, the U14s earned themselves a place in the County Tournament after they finished second in their National Schools Tournament.
The squad were excellent from the outset, winning five matches.
They went on to draw against a very physical Wellsway side which was their toughest game of the tournament for Kingswood, but they didn’t give up.
Kingswood showed great strength and determination in all areas of the court.
By the end of the tournament, they were in join 1st place with Wellsway.
Consequently, it went down to goal difference, in which Wellsway had scored three more goals.
Therefore, Kingswood came 2nd and earned themselves a place in the County Tournament at Clifton College in two weeks’ time.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the U16 netball squad played in a competitive and exciting National Schools Tournament.
The girls played eight matches with limited rest and this proved challenging despite excellent fitness levels.
The team combined well to execute fast passages of play.
This was particularly evident in their matches against Monkton and Prior, where they won 9-4 and 8-4 respectively.
Despite three further wins, they came 4th overall and were disappointed to miss out on qualification to the County Tournament.
The girls worked tirelessly throughout the afternoon and are to be commended for their commitment and determination.
