Kingswood’s Senior Hockey Teams Enjoy Successful Block Fixture
Kingswood’s Senior hockey teams enjoyed a good block fixture against Dean Close whilst Westwood’s hockey fixtures against All Hallows were cancelled due to poor weather.
Kingswood won the block fixture against extremely strong Dean Close opposition, losing just two of the eight fixtures.
The U14As were named Team of the Week as they continued their impressive season with a 1-0 victory against good opposition.
Charlie and Tobina were excellent in attack whilst Jo Jo defended very well against Dean Close’s best player.
However, Hannah was the Player of the Match for her outstanding work rate helping out in both attack and defence. She created the goal for Alice in the first half which, after strong defending from the entire squad, proved the difference between the two teams.
The 1st XI were one of the two teams to be defeated despite putting in their best performance of the season and dominating the match for large points.
Lizzie and Jess were again outstanding but the whole squad contributed to a high level match.
In the week before half term, the U13s played in their County Tournament in a very competitive pool with Redmaids, Clifton College and Bristol Grammar School.
Kingswood emerged victorious and are the County Champions which means they will go through to the Regional rounds next term.
