New 100m And 200m Records Set In Successful Week For Kingswood’s Athletes

Last Thursday, a group of athletes competed at Bath University and, whilst those who have qualified for the County Championships are yet to be confirmed, many pupils impressed with their performances.

There were wins for Edie in the Discus and Imogen in the 100m and 200m. Ellie won the 800m in the Inter girls competition with a time of 2mins 23secs, taking five seconds off the old record which had stood since 1996. Elsewhere, Emma finished in second place in the Discus and Lizzie came second in the 1500m.

Meanwhile, in the Inter boys competition, Matt won the Long Jump and Gustav won the Triple Jump. Callum came second in the 100m Hurdles and James came second in the High Jump.

Following results at Millfield School, the Athletics Club has confirmed new records have been set in the 100m and 200m by Imogen. She completed the 100m in 12.6s and the 200m in 25.9s.
