Pupils Make History At Ten Tors Expedition On Dartmoor

After months of training, Kingswood’s teams completed the Ten Tors event on Dartmoor at the weekend.

The 35 mile teams made exceptional progress all weekend. Team ‘Juliet Charlie’ were the first to finish their course at 9.05am – one and a half hours ahead of the next school on the same route.

Team ‘India Delta’ finished just five minutes later at 9.10am – also the first of the teams to finish their course. Both Year 10 teams made history as the fastest ever Kingswood 35 mile teams.

Elsewhere, the 45 mile teams completed their route well within the time limit, coping well with the surprisingly warm weather conditions on Sunday.

The 55 mile team were the quickest ever Kingswood team to finish the event at just after 11.30am. They were the quickest team to finish on their route despite just two hours sleep on the Saturday night.
