Kingswood Enjoy Successful Cricket Block Fixture Against Bristol Grammar School
Kingswood’s cricket teams enjoyed a successful block fixture against Bristol Grammar School at the weekend.
All four Westwood teams continued their good form by winning their matches with Louis and James both recording half centuries for the U12Bs.
The U12As and U13As both progressed to the semi-finals in their respective cup competitions with comfortable wins in midweek.
The 1st XI have been named Team of the Week after they showed great character to claim a hard-fought win against some strong opponents. A good bowling and fielding performance restricted the BGS batting line-up to 162. Al with 4-28 and Oscar with 2-24 both impressed with their bowling.
A win looked unlikely at one stage with Kingswood collapsing to 9-2 after five overs. However, Will and Hamish showed great composure to build a crucial partnership that got the team back in contention.
