Drama Scholars Take To The Stage To Perform Comedy Monologues And Sketches
Last week, 13 Drama scholars took to the stage to perform a variety of comic monologues, duologues and short scenes. The audience enjoyed the assortment of both well and lesser known sketches.
In the first half of the evening, each scholar performed a monologue with Felix even writing his own. The second half began with Ethan and Basti performing the well-known Two Ronnie’s sketch ‘Four Candles’. This was followed by Lizzie who played ‘Nan’ – a character created by Catherine Tate.
A group of the scholars also performed a scene from ‘Education, Education, Education’ – a play set in a teachers staffroom the day after the 1987 General Election.
Some students also performed a sketch from ‘Fawlty Towers’, with Felix playing Basil Fawlty, Oscar as Manuel and Charlotte as Mrs Richards.
Charlotte then teamed up with Conor to perform ‘You Name, Sir’ – a sketch written by Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie before the evening ended with a scene from ‘Shakers’.
The pupils worked extremely hard to provide an excellent evening's entertainment and the Drama department have thanked those who supported the evening.
