Music Scholars Blow Away Audience With Solo Performances
Those fortunate enough to be in the audience at Wednesdays Scholars’ concert were treated to a truly remarkable evening of music from the students.
The programme was varied and versatile featuring solo performances on classical guitar, drum kit, violin, cello and harp; flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, piano and voice.
The repertoire chosen by the performers spanned the musical eras, from Bach to Kander and Ebb, Mozart to Debussy, and Beethoven to Anderson to name but a few.
The standard of performance was simply breath-taking, not only from the more senior musicians at the pinnacle of their performing journey at school, but also our younger scholars who clearly have a very exciting road ahead of them.
Performing such technically difficult pieces in a calm, confident and effortless manner is a true testament to the hard work and commitment shown by all our music scholars to get to this standard.
A special mention must go to our Year 13 students Emily, James and Gabriel for whom this was their last scholars’ concert.
We thank them for all they have contributed to Kingswood Music over the years.
After the concert there was much praise and positive feedback from the audience, with Mr Opie commenting that it was one of the best Scholars’ Concerts he’d seen during his time at Kingswood.
