Year 5 And 6 Girls Achieve Victory In Netball Tournaments
The Year 5 Girls’ Netball team played host to the Bath Independent Schools’ U10 Netball Festival last Wednesday.
With five schools participating and nine teams altogether, Mrs Harding and Mrs Gibson both ensured the very efficient running of the afternoon, as well as umpiring the two teams from the Prep School.
The girls impressed their teachers with excellent passing and ball handling, as well as tight marking of their opposition and yet again there was some very accurate shooting on display.
Another one of the Year 5 teams travelled across to St. Margaret’s to participate in the U10 Bath Independent Schools’ Tournament, where the girls enjoyed a very successful afternoon.
With seven matches to play and no breaks in between, the girls enjoyed a busy afternoon of netball and they certainly rose to the occasion.
The team won six matches and drew one, confirming their place as winners of the tournament at the end of the afternoon.
The girls displayed impressive comradery by working hard on the court for one another and offering continuous words of encouragement.
The U11 girls also enjoyed a successful afternoon on Wednesday and were delighted to win the King Edward’s Netball Tournament.
The girls played a round robin format, winning three matches and drawing one, whilst demonstrating excellent composure and mental strength to come from behind in three of the matches.
Congratulations to all three teams for their efforts on the court – the girls should be so proud of their achievements.
