Frome Active And In Touch Welcomes Kingswood For Fourth Year Running
Last Monday, Frome Active and in Touch welcomed 26 eager Kingswood musicians for the fourth year running to provide entertainment, company and a reason for people to get together and chat; a direct antidote to Blue Monday.
They arrived to a room full of warm smiles and were immediately welcomed by charity managers, care home workers, health care assistants and nurses.
It became clear that several members of the audience had attended all of our previous concerts, commenting on how the pupils had grown and matured and how they were very much looking forward to the music.
It was wonderful to be able to provide such a wide variety of music from German Lieder and a Beethoven violin sonata, to items of Jazz, Rock and a mix of songs from the musicals.
In typical Kingswood Music style, it was fantastic that ‘Feeling Good’, originally performed by Gabriel and Tomiwo became a four-piece item during the time it took to get from school to Frome, with Freddie and Alex joining them on stage.
Always remarkable where a casual conversation on the bus or back stage can take you!
The Chattanooga Choo Choo stirred very real memories for one member of the audience and our debuts by Year 7 musicians were very impressive to all.
As always, pupils represented Kingswood School in a most positive and exemplary manner.
Some of the feedback received included:
“Loved the concert. It really raised my spirits and I am sure everyone else’s there, too. A fantastic bunch of young people who were talented, confident and I think really understood the impact that their music had on the audience. Thank you.”
It is certainly one of the most important concerts of the year and means so much to those who go to extraordinary lengths to be able to come to listen.
