Humbling Experience For Students Visiting The Genesis Trust
Last Friday, four of our Sixth Form students travelled to the Gateway Centre, which is part of The Genesis Trust.
The group gained a better understanding of the charity’s work in Bath and witnessed first hand how the donations are put to use. A truly humbling experience.
The pupils were introduced to member of staff Ivana, who made them aware of the Trust's different facets and how the work of its 700+ volunteers enables vulnerable people in Bath to receive much needed support.
They were also given a tour, during which they saw all of the donated resources, clothes and toiletries which are distributed to those in need.
Alex, Year 13 said it was "a highly informative visit that really showed how we can help people in the wider community. It is important to remember that there are people less fortunate than us, and that we should do what we can to help.”
His sentiments are echoed by Ellie, Year 13 who added: “It was very eye-opening to learn about the different projects that the Genesis Trust supports. I think we all saw the importance of supporting the charity throughout the year to ensure that there is a continual supply of things that they need, many of which we take for granted, such as food and underwear.”
You can donate any unused toiletries, cosmetics, flannels and sanitary products to one of Kingswood’s Beauty Banks.
