2nd XI Continue Excellent Season And Named Team Of The Week

Last week, the 1^st XI recorded an excellent win thanks to an opening stand of 157 between Marcus and Hamish which got them comfortably to their victory total of 182.

This set up a league decider against Dauntsey’s on Saturday.

Three innings of real quality from Noah, Oscar and Will got Kingswood to 203-6 but unfortunately Dauntsey’s won an absorbing encounter with two overs to spare.

James had an excellent week scoring 68 in the U15A’s victory and there were further good wins for the U13As and U12Bs.

However, it was the 2^nd XI who were named Team of the Week after they continued their excellent season with a strong win over a well-fancied Dauntsey’s team.

A fantastic opening spell from Freddy, who was well supported by Harry, built early pressure before James continued the team’s good form with a wonderful spell from 3-6 from his four overs.

Louis finished off the innings with two wickets.

The bowling was backed up with some good ground fielding and excellent catching, whilst Angus took four in the innings.

In reply, a good opening knock from Angus put Kingswood in a comfortable position but after he was bowled, wickets fell far too regularly.

James anchored the run chase from there on in, and his sensible and calm innings allowed Kingswood to get over the line for the deserved victory.
