The Westwood Tennis players did not let the few heavy bursts of rain dampen their spirits whilst playing their House matches.

In the U13s, Beckford’s A team had the advantage of having four A team players; Holly, and Hayley justified their position as first pair as they did not drop a game all afternoon.

Hamilton’s first pair of Katya and Sophie put up a very good fight against all Beckford pairs, losing closely to Beckford’s second pair of Martha and Imogen, and winning their final game.

In the B team matches, Beckford also had the upper hand but Hamilton did not make it easy for them.

Hamilton’s second pair of Hoho and Nora deserve a mention for narrowly losing 6-5 to Beckford’s first pair.

In the U12s, for the As, Beckford’s first pair of Grace and Anna showed confidence when at the net, the latter serving well and hitting tramline winners.

Izzy impressed with her baseline and drop shots.

Hamilton’s first pair of Amy and Hazel served consistently and added pace to their returns.

For the Bs, Beckford players Ella, Sophia and Lily deserve a mention for their court awareness.

Hamilton’s first pair of Zoe and Poppy also showed similar attributes and communicated very effectively on court.

In Monday’s Whole School Assembly, Imogen (U13s) and Amy (U12s) came forward to collect their respective trophies from Mr Morris.
