Pupils Awarded Colours After Strong Week For Kingswood’s Hockey Teams
It was an outstanding week for Kingswood’s Hockey teams as they won eight and drew two of the 12 fixtures against Dauntsey’s on Saturday and produced some outstanding performances in County and Regional tournaments.
The 1st XI were named Team of the Week after they beat a strong Dauntsey’s side 6-0 on Saturday with Ben scoring a hat-trick.
This followed midweek success in the Regional Finals as they went through the tournament unbeaten to clinch the title.
The U13s finished as runners-up in the U13 County Tournament with Joe and Can both in excellent form, and now advance to the Regional Finals.
They followed that up with a good win against Dauntsey’s on Saturday and there were further impressive performances from the 2nd XI, U15As, U12Bs and U14Bs who all maintained their unbeaten records.
Bruin was particularly impressive for the U14Bs, scoring give goals in their 7-0 victory.
If it wasn’t for the 1st XI’s impressive week, the 4th XI could have been named Team of the Week as they took on an unbeaten Dauntsey’s side and produced a superb display to claim a 9-0 win.
After the 1st XI’s fantastic week, a number of players received Colours awards in Monday’s Whole School Assembly.
Dominic, Harvey and Ben all received Half Colours.
Full Colours were awarded to Fin who has been an outstanding leader, both on and off the pitch, and has thrived in the leadership role.
He is a player whose performance levels remain incredibly consistent and he has really earnt the respect of his teammates for the example he sets.
