Year 8 Visit Home Of Concorde On Science Trip
Last Monday, Year 8 visited Aerospace Bristol, the home of Concorde.
As well as finding out about the engineering and history behind Concorde, pupils were able to board the famous aeroplane and imagine what supersonic flight is like.
Alongside some time to wander through the museum’s other exhibits, the pupils also took part in a ‘Mission to Mars’ workshop.
During this engineering challenge, students worked in groups to design, build and test a vehicle capable of traversing the rocky Martian terrain to retrieve rock samples from the surface of the planet.
This was an excellent opportunity to get a taste of life as an aerospace engineer and most teams completed the challenge, working within the financial and design constraints they had been given.
