Boys’ Hockey Teams Celebrate Fantastic Week
It was a very successful week for Kingswood’s Boys’ Hockey teams as they enjoyed much the better of the block fixture against Prior Park, finished second in the U16 County Tournament and winning the U18 County Tournament.
For the second week running, Oscar and Finn S scored hat-tricks for the U14Bs and 4th XI respectively whilst Joe and Jim scored crucial late winners for the U13As and U15As as they both maintained their unbeaten start to the season.
Any of these teams, along with the U15Bs, would have been worthy recipients for the Team of the Week but this time it went to the 1st XI.
On Thursday, they won their County Tournament with a 5-0 win against Beechen Cliff and a 1-0 victory against a very strong Bristol Grammar School team.
Fin S played fantastically during the tournament and they, just like the U16s who finished runners up in the County Tournament, progress to the Regional rounds.
Then on Saturday, against a very strong Prior Park Team, the 1st XI produced an outstanding display to secure a 3-1 victory.
The whole squad performed to an exceptionally high level with Tom, who played in goal, receiving a special mention after he made a number of vital saves and Harvey whose excellent hat-trick rightly earned him the Man of the Match award.
