Senior Girls’ Tennis Teams Drop Just Two Sets In Successful Week

It was another excellent weekend for Kingswood’s Girls’ tennis teams with all of the School’s Senior teams winning against their counterparts from Monkton, dropping just two sets out of a possible 36.

Ellie and Ella played three excellent sets in their final match for Kingswood whilst Amber and Izzy impressed with their court craft and powerful groundstrokes.

In the Westwood matches, Kingswood won all but one of their matches against Dean Close Prep School. The U13Bs had the closest game, winning 5-4 with Lola and Grace winning all of their matches.

On Monday, there was some outstanding matches and exciting rallies in the House matches which saw Summerhill House emerge victorious.

Meanwhile, in Boys’ tennis, the U14s won a tight game against King Edward’s. Fergus and Jonny formed a new partnership to win a crucial match and to secure the win. Despite Angus and Xavier winning their two matches with some strong play, the U15s lost to King Edward’s.

A number of Year 9s played for the School’s Senior teams against Sherborne at the weekend.

The 1st and 2nd VI both won their fixtures with the 1sts winning 8-1 and the 2nds wining 5-4 after some closely fought sets.
