Successful Weekend For Kingswood’s Athletes

Kingswood participated in an athletics competition at Marlborough College at the weekend with three girls teams competing. The official results have not been announced yet but there were some very encouraging performances with Kingswood fielding teams in every event.

Grace and Sterling both impressed on the track for the Junior Girls with Edie also doing well in the throws.

In the Inter event, Ellie won the 800m and Long Jump with Imogen winning in the 100m.

The Senior team did extremely well in their events with victories in the Long Jump, Javelin, 100m, 400m and 1500m. Becci also won the 200m in 26.9s, a tenth of a second slower than the current school record.

In the 4x100m relays, the Juniors came third, and the Inters and Seniors demonstrated excellent changeovers as they won their races.

Meanwhile, the boys were competing against seven other schools in the Lutra Shield at the weekend. The School had a large Year 10 contingent who did very well despite competing against the senior boys. Ciaran impressed in the High Jump with a second place finish.

Elsewhere, Harry looked promising in the 800m finishing third and the 4x100m relay team also managed to compete with some very strong teams.
