Kingswood Netball Club Perform Well In Tough KES Block Fixture
The Netball Club enjoyed an exciting block fixture against King Edwards School, with 16 teams playing. There were 11 wins, two draws and three losses.
The U15B's lost to KES last year so a 24-12 win was great, with Amelie controlling the game and linking passages of play.
The Seniors featured strongly with the 4th VII having a 37-13 win and the 3rd VII won 38-19; Tilly drew many a foul from her much taller opponent and she worked well in the circle with Emily and Charlotte.
Team of The week goes to the 1st VII who put out an incredible performance against a very strong KES outfit. The final score was a fair 30-30 and it was one of the best school fixtures the coaching staff had seen at this level for many years.
The change of movement, pace and intensity was a credit to the team. The team combined well through midcourt, and Emily and Jess fed beautifully into the circle. Becci was awarded player of the match as she shot superbly and outplayed her defence with her wicked change of direction.
The Netball Club would like to wish the U14As the best of luck as they go to Bournemouth this Saturday for the Regional Schools and take on some strong competition in the South West.
