22% of Pupils Awarded Gold in Bebras Challenge
Another year of resounding success for Kingswood’s computer scientists in the Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge 2024.
A total of 412 of Kingswood’s Computer Science pupils took part in the national problem-solving competition that tested their computational thinking, algorithms, and problem-solving skills through a number of online challenges.
Kingswood students performed to an outstanding level this year – 22% of our pupils achieved marks in the top 10% nationally and were awarded a Gold certificate as a result. Of particular note are the achievements of Freddie B, Edward L, Madeleine M, Finley S and Fig W who all achieved the joint highest score nationally, a phenomenal achievement given that over 400,000 students participated.
Kingswood pupil, Fig W, said: “Taking part in the Bebras Competition was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed solving the challenges and testing my problem-solving skills. Getting 100% was such an amazing surprise – I’m so proud to have done well and to have been part of Kingswood’s success. It was a great experience overall!”
Congratulations to all participants for their exceptional achievements.
