Scripted Drama Assessments In Full Swing
The theatre has seen an abundance of energy during our scripted Drama assessments. It was wonderful to have actors performing in the theatre and designers being able to see their ideas realised on stage. The Year 13s performed a very naturalistic interpretation from The Pillowman by Martin Macdonagh. Mimi, Ted and Avery successfully created a very tense atmosphere and left the audience wondering which characters to trust.
The Year 11s then entertained us with a selection of very powerful and moving monologues from a variety of different texts. Lighting designer Leyla created a fantastic atmosphere to reflect a plane crash and the lasting effect upon a witness; echoed also in Scarlett’s gruesome make-up and costume design, complete with bloody cuts and glass shards. Maisie and Vivienne also created very effective costume and make designs, full of detail, reflecting their interpretations of Antigone and Macbeth excellently.
Together with Mrs Ward, Mr Hart and Mr Francis, I would like to congratulate all the students on their hard work and professionalism. Many thanks to Miss Tamblyn, Tom and Dasha for all their help with the event.
