Insightful Speeches Kick-Start The Debating Society's First Meeting

Last Tuesday saw the first debating society meeting of the year on Microsoft Teams with the motion: ‘This House believes that violence is never the answer'. 

Speeches for both the proposition and opposition explored the question in detail, drawing on History, Current Affairs, Theology and Philosophy in a highly engaging and thoughtful discourse.

In the end, the opposition’s case of necessity for the means for the oppressed to defend themselves and pursue a course of freedom carried the day.
