Senior Sports Fixtures and Events

Last week saw some competitive fixtures with half of the games finishing with five points or less between the teams.

The week started well with an impressive performance from the 1st XV’s against Beechen Cliff on Wednesday night to claim a hard fought victory.

On Saturday, both the U12 and U14 teams recorded wins against QEH, and the U14Bs claimed team of the week.

The team played a very exciting game of rugby in which Kingswood recovered from being 12-0 down to record a three point win.

Playing uphill in the first half, Oscar made some crucial tackles on his return from injury to limit the QEH advantage.

James’ late score meant the half-time deficit was only five points.

A much more organised defensive and more intense play in the second half got Kingswood back into the game but the dominance of our forwards was the telling factor.

Cas, Oscar, Isaac and James all played their part in this respect and Wilbur scored two good tries off the back of close range scrums.

There were some nervous moments late on but Kingswood managed to hold out for a hard-fought win.

Man of the match was Ryan for leading the charge as the forwards gained dominance with their ball carrying.
