U10 And U11 Hockey Teams Play With Spirit And Confidence
It certainly felt like winter had arrived on Wednesday afternoon as the U10 girls played host to both Monkton and Bristol Grammar School – a useful fixture, with three Prep School teams in action.
The Red team enjoyed a closely contested match which produced some quality hockey, with Sophie and Alice in defence putting into practice some set plays they had worked on in lessons.
The White team persevered through a tough match, however with Katelyn goalkeeping and some competent defending they managed to convert many opportunities.
Mrs Firbank was pleased to see so many newcomers to the Prep School play with such spirit and confidence.
The Black team also experienced some challenging competition which produced moments of brilliant Hockey from the girls.
The U10s were dynamic in attack and they would have converted more chances were it not for some excellent goalkeeping from the opposition.
Despite being caught on the break a few times, the games were exciting to watch and the gameplay was intense.
The U11 girls also enjoyed a triangular fixture with Bristol Grammar School and Monkton with both Kingswood teams playing some excellent hockey.
Mrs Newman was impressed by the effort and quality of passing by the girls, as they managed to win three out of the four matches.
