Prep Rugby Teams Enjoy Challenging Matchups On The Upper
The U10s enjoyed some hard-fought physical matchups with The Paragon on the Upper on Wednesday.
Mr Amner’s team were physical in defence and ran hard in attack, and will continue to strive on running forwards and passing sideways to a teammate who is in space before getting tackled.
Mr Hopwood’s team enjoyed lots of possession of the ball and looked to offload the ball, but must remember that it is easier to pass before a defender wraps their arms around.
In an evenly-matched contest, Mr Ward’s team performed brilliantly and tried their hardest to do the correct thing at the correct time.
Over the course of the afternoon, there were rucks, scrums, offloads, thunderous physical tackles and, most importantly, plenty of smiles before, during and after the match.
In Year 6, the pupils played 12 games of rugby at various levels against a variety of different opponents from Millfield and The Paragon, featuring some close and fiercely contested games.
All available Year 6 boys were involved and they had fun on an otherwise cold afternoon, playing some absolutely terrific rugby at times along the way.
