Hockey Girls Show Team Spirit Against Strong Opposition
Last week, the 1st XI had a long drive to face Bromsgrove in the second round of the U18 Cup.
The girls showed some good team play and Miya was awarded 'stand out player' for converting three goals.
The girls managed their speed to good effect and used an early through ball to catch their defence as the main tactic.
On Saturday, the Hockey Club played Sherborne, unfortunately losing the block despite many strong performances.
Some of the losses were narrow and could have easily gone either way, if opportunities had been converted.
A stand out performance from the U15As was Hannah slotting a short corner away and Georgie scoring the other two to win 3-0.
Ciara also defended valiantly limiting Sherborne’s attacking play.
The Juniors also played in a block against Dauntsey’s winning all four fixtures.
Some strong performances from Gracie and Gala for the U13Bs and Katrin for the U12Bs.
Bea was in scintillating form for the U12As and was pivotal down the left wing.
Team of The Week goes to the U13As who have made so much progress and are growing in confidence.
In the latter stages of the first half, the shooting circle opened for Kingswood and they were able to sneak a soft ball in behind the GK.
Anna was influential in the middle and Maiya was brilliant upfront.
The team’s hard work and focus gave Kingswood the edge as they scored three more goals from well worked passages of play - an convincing 4-1 win.
