Girls' Hockey Teams Enjoy Fixtures Against Dean Close And King's Bruton
On Saturday, the girls’ Hockey teams had one of their most competitive blocks, playing Dean Close Prep and King’s Bruton.
The Juniors coped extremely well in the heat and managed one win, two losses and five draws.
Notable performances included the U13Ds who won 4-0, with Bea performing well.
The U13Cs also worked tirelessly to secure their 2-2 draw in which Maisie and Beatrix impressed in defence and made countless tackles.
The Seniors had the upper hand against King’s Bruton and won the block 7-1 while the 2nd XI had their first win, with Olivia receiving the stand out player award.
Team Of The Week goes to the 1st XI who did well to beat King's Bruton for the first time in four years.
King's started brightly and the defensive unit did well to keep them out in the first twenty minutes before Kingswood took control with Martha outstanding in midfield.
Support was provided by Nina, who enjoyed another strong game at right half and Phoebe scored both the goals but was denied a hat-trick after a terrific save on the line.
The whole squad worked exceptionally hard in very hot conditions and, in the end, this made all the difference.
