Rugby Teams Achieve Wins Against Strong Opposition

Saturday morning saw the Westwood rugby teams secure a win and draw against Prior Park, Year 7 teams enjoyed practice matches against the Year 6s from the Prep school and there were tough fixtures in the afternoon for our Senior teams against Taunton School.

The U14s recorded wins, thanks in part to a hat-trick from Tom and a Man of the Match performance from Namkang in his first ever game of rugby!

There were also stand-out efforts from the U16Bs and the U15As including tries from Frankie, Will, Finn and Alfred and a fine all-round performance from Alexander.

The U15As were involved in the game of the day, where the score ebbed and flowed regularly between two quality sides.

Rory and Harry made some impressive hits in defence and Bruin and Noah scored 3 excellent tries between them.

However, the difference between the two teams was the performance of Raff at fly-half, who kicked brilliantly, defended ferociously and directed proceedings against a very strong Taunton outfit.
