Impressive Tennis On Display During Busy Week For Kingswood Tennis Club
On Saturday, the Tennis Club enjoyed a block fixture against Prior Park and won 5-3.
In Girls’ Tennis, the U15Bs, U13s and U12s all won and the U12Bs were named Team of the Week.
The U12Bs enjoyed a great fixture and they grew in confidence with each game.
The only game dropped went to 6-5, so well-fought until the end.
Ellie and Gala should be very proud of their efforts.
The 1st pair of Scarlett and Alice, and the 2nd pair of Sarah and Kim won 6-2, 6-1 against 1st and 2nd pairs respectively.
The U15As had a tough afternoon, and Annie and Rose had a superb match against their counterparts, with most games going to deuce.
The U14As had an injury which meant Sophie had to play American doubles.
Against the first pair, it went to a tie break and she narrowly lost, but it was still an amazing achievement!
There were plenty of high quality rallies, improved serving, net winners and passing shots.
In Boys’ Tennis, both Senior teams recorded good wins against Monkton last Thursday.
Despite being unfamiliar with the grass surface, the boys adapted their games very well.
The footwork and touch shown was very impressive, and the performance was very pleasing.
In the 1st team, Johnny and Joe led the way with an almost unplayable mixture of power and spin.
In the 2nd team, Ollie and Alex displayed the future of Kingswood tennis with three solid victories.
Despite the imbalance of strength, the match was played in excellent spirit.
On Sunday, a very high standard of tennis was on display on the Lower Astro at the annual Parents’, Teachers’ and Pupils’ Tennis event.
