Year 5 Host Evening Of Music And Drama For Families And Friends
On Tuesday, our Year 5 students entertained their families and friends with their own Music and Drama Evening in the Association Hall.
In true work-share fashion, they showed group scenes that they had prepared together over the last half term, sorting their own staging, acting, props, costumes and sound-effects.
The teachers and parents were delighted by the collaboration and creativity of the pupils.
Scenes were taken from some favourite stories and included fairy tales such as Sleeping Beauty and Hansel and Gretel, classics such as Oliver Twist and Peter Pan, and newer works such as His Dark Materials and The Wolves of Willoughby Chase.
Accompanying songs were also from favourite musicals, such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Mary Poppins.
The children finished off the project with a visit to the Egg Theatre on Wednesday afternoon to see the matinee performance of Emil and the Detectives.
Well done to all the children for their fantastic performances.
