The STEAM Cafe
As part of Sat-X , our Year 6 pupils attended the Prep School's STEAM Café where they were visited by a Medic, Artist and Engineer!
Dr Kate Crewdson, a specialist in critical care who also works for the Air Ambulance gave a fascinating talk about how the human heart and lungs work together to keep us alive. Year 6 were able to handle Dr Kate's emergency equipment and perform dissections throughout the morning.
Local Artist, Gina Belford ran a workshop that encouraged our pupils to paint in an abstract way, working with different textures and layers. So many beautiful and exciting masterpieces were made.
Finally, in the engineering workshop, our children made durable containers that were able to transport vaccines safely. During the workshop, our young engineers tested their models by dropping them from high heights with a parachute.
A fantastic morning learning from our guest speakers. Thank you so much for joining the Prep School as part of Sat-X.
