Students Showcase Talents At Drama Scholars Showcase
At the beginning of May, nine Drama scholars showcased their talents in front of a select group of audience members in the Drama Studio.
The evening started with the School’s oldest scholar, Charlotte, performing one of the monologues she has been using to audition for Drama Schools, closely followed by our youngest two scholars, Toby and Alma, both performing monologues that they have been working on.
Oscar then treated the audience to one of his comic monologues, before Beth showed the audience an extract from her superb GCSE scripted assessment.
Sophie then acted a small section from the forthcoming junior production of “Arabian Nights” and responded fantastically to redirection from Mr Harding in front of the audience.
A short film compilation of the scholars in action throughout the year was closely followed by a hilarious performance of the Lee Mack “Phobia” sketch involving Oscar, Beth, Charlotte and other scholars, Lizzie and Basti, that had the audience genuinely laughing out loud.
The evening ended with Charlotte reminiscing about her time at Kingswood and talking about her experiences of auditioning for Drama Schools before giving an outstanding performance of her monologue from “Iphigenia in Splott”.
