Year 11 Drama Students Perform Final Scripted Assessments
Before half-term, Year 11 Drama students performed their final scripted assessments.
A large audience of over 200 people watched the extracts on Wednesday evening before the students performed to the examiner the next day.
The evening began with ‘Chatroom’ – a blackly comic piece about cyber bullying performed by Harry, Amber, Phoebe, Nathan, Tati and Jude while Sam was responsible for the impressive lighting and projection.
This was followed by April, Selin and Evelyn as three girls determined to destroy a statue of The Queen in ‘The Queen Must Die’ and two powerful monologues from ‘Saint Joan’ by Poppy, whose costumes had been designed by Tilda.
‘Find Me’, performed by George, Emma, Lizzie, Beth and Migle was a slick piece of physical theatre whilst the thought-provoking and hard-hitting ‘Girls Like That’, performed by Niamh, Tiva, Iris, Isha and Lulu made the audience laugh and cringe in equal measure.
The evening finished on a more jovial note with extracts from ‘God’s Official’, performed by Louis, Jim, James, Tom, Toby, Ethan and Ben, which was about two men who have kidnapped a football referee when he makes a decision that sees their favourite team relegated.
The results won’t be confirmed until the summer, but all the students should be proud of their hard work.
Mrs Nash and Mrs Ward would like to thank Mr Francis and Miss Kenny for their usual; invaluable support and everyone who came and watched the performance, which raised vital funds for the Genesis Trust and Young Minds.
