Westwood’s Netball Teams Shine In Impressive Week

It was one of Kingswood’s most successful weeks for Netball with 18 teams representing the School on Saturday against Bristol Grammar School whilst there were impressive tournament displays for the U15Cs, U13Cs, U13Ds and U12s during the week.

All of these sides won the majority of their games and the U13Cs came within one goal of a clean sweep.

Teams of the Week were the U12s after all four sides came out on top in close games.

It was particularly difficult for the shooters on the Upper on Saturday with strong winds making consistency difficult.

Maiya had an outstanding second half to recover a game Kingswood were losing and she was well supported by Iona to help the A team win 14-9.

Gracie and Zoe had strong games for the U12Bs as they held on to win narrowly 10-8 in a very exciting game.

The U12Cs won a close game with all the girls receiving plaudits for their efforts, but Kimberly was exceptional in her shooting and movement around the circle.

Finally, the U12Ds won 13-4 win with Anna being awarded the Player of the Match award.

Meanwhile, the 1^st VII played some outstanding netball to beat a well-drilled Bristol Grammar School side 31-13.

Olivia had an impressive game shooting in difficult conditions whilst Lexie was named Player of the Match for her good work in defence.
