Last Monday, a group of 23 musicians from Kingswood travelled to Frome Assembly Rooms in order to give a concert for Active and In Touch, a volunteer project for local ‘neighbours in need’.

Active and In Touch was set up by volunteers to help and befriend people who have become isolated or out of touch with the community around them.

On ‘Blue Monday’, the volunteers host a special lunch for their guests and Kingswood were once again invited to provide some post-lunch entertainment.

Kingswood String Ensemble, along with a collection of soloists from Years 9-12, put on a fantastic showcase of music for the guests, who were treated to a wide array of styles and genres.

The level of solo performance was exceptionally high and the appreciative audience were thrilled by the singers and instrumentalists’ talents.

String Ensemble ended the concert with lively renditions of ‘City of Stars’ from La La Land and the passionate ‘Libertango’, which was followed by some time to chat with the guests before departing back for school.

The Music department have congratulated all of the performers for representing Kingswood so well and providing such wonderful entertainment for a very deserving audience.
