Excellent Week For Kingswood’s Orienteers

Kingswood's runners had an excellent day in the sun in the Avon Schools' Orienteering Championships at the weekend.

The event took place at New Beechenhurst in the Forest of Dean with Kingswood having four runners winning their respective age groups.

The closest competition was on the orange course with Sebastian winning Year 9 in a time of 33.45, and close behind him and winning Year 8 was Wilfrid in 34.07.

Jamie had a superb run on the light green course winning the Year 10 boys and Lucy completed Kingswood's winning line up taking the honours in the Year 12 girls.

Jim has been selected for the Great Britain Talent Squad and former pupil Eddie has been selected to run for GB at the Junior World Orienteering Championships which are taking place in Hungary in July.
