Kingswood Trio Win Public Speaking Competition
On Wednesday, three pupils represented Kingswood in the BPW public speaking competition heat for Bath and West Wiltshire.
Each student had a different role; the Speaker, Chairperson and Expresser of Thanks. The Speaker from one school was paired with the other two roles from another school.
During the competition, which was held at Stonar School, Poppy mastered the role of the Chairperson, organising the group presentation and managing the audience questions to the Speaker.
Sam delivered an expertly researched speech on the history and use of chemical weapons, as well as confidently responding to audience questions.
As the Expresser of Thanks, Charlotte charismatically summarised and expanded on the speech from Stonar about the impact of technology on society.
The standard of the event was very high but Kingswood emerged as winners, with the judges commending their confidence, professionalism and preparation.
