Celebrating The End Of Term With A Series of Virtual Concerts

Despite some unusual challenges, Kingswood Music is as strong as ever.

Throughout this term, rehearsals have been continuing in earnest, but with the addition of social-distancing and year group bubbles.

The students have faced fantastic new experiences and the opportunity to go behind the scenes and into the recording studio has been eye opening.

For most group performances, each part has been recorded separately in the studio and then masterfully constructed back together to make the final pieces.

Alongside this, all our individual music lessons have continued and the students have been working hard to perfect their solo playing for both exams and online concerts.

The department is fantastically resourced and we are lucky to have the technical expertise to record, compile, edit and distribute performances from our in-house studio.

However, the magic of 21st Century has also allowed those boarding students who have remained at home across the globe to still be involved, and they have been able to submit recordings made on their phones and tablets to us, helping to bring the Kingswood community together wherever we are.

It’s been wonderful to see so many musicians coming together, even if it is virtually!
