Prep Classrooms Work Together to Create Christmas Angels
Each class have been working together to create a Christmas angel to display during the Carol Services on the last week of term.
In Reception, the children painted their hands with white paint and sprinkled glitter for the wings. They also collaged bright colours onto sticky back plastic for the dress.
Year 1 practised folding with concertinas and then cut individual feathers for the wings. They curled paper for the hair and added patterns and decorations in gold and silver pen.
We looked at mosaics with Year 2 and each child had a separate part of the body and wings to complete.
Year 3 made silver snowflakes and bronze stars for the dress and designed their own little wings to make up the bigger ones.
We wired pipe cleaner and bead feathers together in Year 4 and each child decorated their own stars and circles to make up the dress. They even had a go at plaiting some ribbons to give their angel some hair.
Year 5 designed complex patterns in metallic pens on their own sections of the body and worked together on symmetrical sections.
Half of each Year 6 class designed diamonds which were folded on the dress and the other half blended soft pastels with decorative patterns on the wings.
Thank you to the selected children for drawing the angel faces so beautifully - what a set they made up in the Association Hall!
